Sighting Timeframe: summer 1973
County: Isle Of Wight
Location: isle of wight county,on the beach of the james river,near the old monette meat packing plant in smithfield.
Activities: i was walking down on the beach,heard a rustle over in the 3ft plus grasses and saw the most frightening site of my life.he stood at least 7ft tall and had very auburn hair all over.i viewed him from the side and never saw his face.....he never looked my way,seemed to be oblivious to me thank GOD!i was 14 y.o. and ran for my life crying and screaming for my sister ( as i passed her )to run as fast as she could!
Witnesses: i was the only witness as my sister was far behind me and had not yet cleared the cliff that would have made the clearing visible to her.
Setting: beach of the james river in isle of wight county,pretty much isolated except for one or two occupied houses up on the cliff.
Physical Description: he stood at least 7 ft tall,huge stature.hairy all over with very auburn hair,almost orange in color.arose up from the grasses and stood like a man,then very powerfully leapt up and over approx.5-6 ft.like an animal.with his stature this would require an extreme amount of muscle power..very frightening and unreal as this was a creature i`d never had any knowledge of or laid my eyes on!i viewed him from the side and never saw his face.i ran for my life and have no idea what he did after he leapt!
i very much appreciate you allowing me to share this with you as it`s not something you discuss with anyone,as people look at you like you`re crazy,so over the past 32 years i`ve pretty much keep quite except with family.i have however always said i`d take it to my grave "AS I KNOW WHAT I SAW".i`d be glad to speak with you if interested..thank you ,carolyn brown
